Lamination And Microstructuring Technology for a Bio-Cell Multiwell array

چکیده
Microtechnology becomes a versatile tool for biological and biomedical applications. Microwells have been established long but remained non-intelligent up to now. Merging new fabrication techniques and handling concepts with microelectronics enables to realize intelligent microwells suitable for future improved cancer treatment. The described technology depicts the basis for the fabrication of electronically enhanced microwell. Thin aluminium sheets are structured by laser micro machining and laminated successively to obtain registration tolerances of the respective layers of <5μm. The microwells lasermachined into the laminate are with 50...350μm diameter, allowing to contain individual cells within the microwell as well as provide access holes for the layer-to-layer contacting A permeable membrane attached to the bottom of the microwell plate is used for fluid handling. The individual process steps are described and results on the microstructuring as well as on biocompatibility of the materials are given.

In this paper, a fluidic biosensor with possibility to fabricate by Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology is proposed for biomedical mass detection and lab-on-chip applications. This is designed by electromechanical coupling of harmonic micromechanical resonators with harmonic springers as a mechanical resonator array. It can disperse mechanical wave along the array by electrostati...
متن کاملLaser Surface Microstructuring of Biocompatible Materials Using a Microlens Array and the Talbot Effect: Evaluation of the Cell Adhesion
A laser based technique for microstructuring titanium and tantalum substrates using the Talbot effect and an array of microlenses is presented. By using this hybrid technique; we are able to generate different patterns and geometries on the top surfaces of the biomaterials. The Talbot effect allows us to rapidly make microstructuring, solving the common problems of using microlenses for multipa...
متن کاملElectrochemical Micromachining as an Enabling Technology for Advanced Silicon Microstructuring
Based on previous theoretical and experimental results on the electrochemical etching of silicon in HF-based aqueous electrolytes, it is shown for the first time that silicon microstructures of various shapes and silicon microsystems of high complexity can be effectively fabricated in any research lab with sub-micrometer accuracy and high aspect ratio values (about 100). This is well beyond any...
متن کاملPerfused multiwell plate for 3D liver tissue engineering.
In vitro models that capture the complexity of in vivo tissue and organ behaviors in a scalable and easy-to-use format are desirable for drug discovery. To address this, we have developed a bioreactor that fosters maintenance of 3D tissue cultures under constant perfusion and we have integrated multiple bioreactors into an array in a multiwell plate format. All bioreactors are fluidically isola...

Background: Karyotype analysis has been the standard and reliable procedure for prenatal cytogenetic diagnosis since the 1970s. However, the major limitation remains requirement for cell culture, resulting in a delay of as much as 14 days to get the test results.CGH array technology has proven to be useful in detecting causative genomic imbalances or genetic mutations in as many as 15% of child...
